Understanding the ISA Application Process

In order to receive a stipend through the International Study Award, students must complete the application materials required by their program application including responding that they intend to use their ISA for the program on the post-decision (ISA) International Study Award form.

Note: Students request to use their ISA for a program by selecting "yes, I plan to use the ISA to fund this program..." on the post-decision form titled (ISA) International Study Award. This form will show with the other post-decision forms once a student’s status changes to accepted and will be considered complete once all post-decision forms are complete.

It is the student's responsibility to be aware of all deadlines for their desired program, completing the (ISA) International Study Award and other post-decision forms by the May 1 deadline.

The downloadable graphic on this page is intended as a general workflow guide to help visualize the typical application process for each type of ISA-supported activity.

Students may submit an ISA application before being admitted to a program, approved for Yale credit, or having their internship approved, however ISA stipends will not be processed until the Center for International and Professional Experience has documentation supporting a student's eligibility for funding.
